Eating and drinking during a Melbourne winter

Try a canelé at Pei Modern for #melbwinter

In summer we sit on the streets and on the rooftops. But winter in Melbourne is equally specially with plenty of dark warm rooms to hibernate in to eat and drink (in addition to the films, fireworks and footy).

I’ve been asked with several other high profile Melbournians including Guy Grossi (Melbourne restauranter), Andy Murphy (DJ), Lauren Brain (Nova radio), Thom Whilton (Melbourne fashion blogger), Tim Blackwell (Nova radio) and Bianca Chatfield (captain of Melbourne Vixens, netball) to help promote the city in winter.

QR codes will be at prominent city locations to offer extra information about Melbourne’s winter secrets and there are ongoing competitions and great prizes.

It’s all about putting together the reasons Melbourne and winter are a perfect match.

To coincide with the campaign the City of Melbourne has launched the newest edition of Hot Spots – the ultimate guide to the cross section of new restaurants, cafes, bars and retail that Melbourne has to offer.

You can find out about more winter ideas on their website or via the twitter hashtag #melbwinter which I shall be contributing to.

What are your favourite spots in Melbourne for winter?
